Medical emergencies

Go to the nearest Emergency Room (or the one you consider most appropriate) and present your Patient Identification Card.

Swelling of the throat, tongue or difficulty breathing requires immediate medical attention.

If possible, inform the medical team that HAE is not a common allergy and may not respond to antihistamines and corticosteroids.

  • Have an action plan for attacks and do not wait for the condition to worsen before seeking medical attention.

SUS Card (Public Health)

The SUS Card is mandatory for any medical care at public health centers. It is free of charge and can be obtained on the spot at any Basic Health Unit (UBS) or AMA, by presenting a photo ID and proof of address.
